The Eye Care Unit operates in both Malmö and Lund. In addition to meeting the needs of residents for eye care in Lund and Malmö, we also provide regional healthcare for Halland, Kronoberg, and Blekinge.

At the Eye Surgery Unit in Lund, there are four operating rooms. We have a large flow of patients of varying ages, including children. We perform various procedures such as retinal surgery, cataract surgery, plastic surgery, corneal transplants, tear duct procedures, strabismus surgery, and more. Our operations consist of both urgent and planned surgeries performed under general or local anesthesia.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone interested in working in an exciting and rapidly developing surgical department. In the role of operating room nurse, we offer you a responsible, stimulating, varied, and developing job, where both technical and nursing skills are required. As an operating room nurse, you will work in a team within perioperative care.

Working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The position also includes on-call duty every eighth weekend and one weekday every other week.

QUALIFICATIONS

To thrive with us, we expect you to be interested in eyes and want to actively work to combine nursing, medicine, and technology. You are confident in your work as an operating room nurse and have a positive attitude and adaptability to changing circumstances. Additionally, you have a good ability to organize work and can make independent decisions while having good collaboration skills. As we are keen to find the right person for the position, we place great importance on personal suitability.

Regarding formal requirements, we are looking for a licensed nurse or ophthalmic nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Additionally, you should have a specialist education in operating room nursing. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages are required. Furthermore, we would prefer if you have several years of experience working in surgical operations, but this is not a requirement. It is also advantageous for the position if you have knowledge of the systems Meilor, Orbit, and Pasis.
