As a nurse, you will gain both depth and breadth within your area of expertise, as Visby Hospital, being the only acute hospital on the island, handles all patients on Gotland.

Communications between Visby and the rest of the country are good, and on Gotland, distances to work and leisure are short. Gotland is characterized by its beautiful nature, cultural-historical environment, an active cultural life, and an increasing academic presence through Uppsala University Campus Gotland and a rich association life.

You now have the chance to apply for a new internal medicine rotation position at Visby Hospital, where you will work at the Acute Care Clinic and as a resource nurse on the four internal medicine wards. You will be scheduled for five weeks at the Acute Care Clinic working daytime on weekdays, followed by five weeks on our various internal medicine wards. You will receive an introduction at the Acute Care Clinic and the wards.

You will receive a permanent position within internal medicine and work on the wards:

• Medical Ward
• Cardiology Ward
• Stroke Ward
• Geriatrics Ward

The Acute Care Clinic, the anticoagulation clinic, is responsible for all patients on Gotland who are treated with Warfarin.

Your Responsibilities

As a nurse, you are responsible for patient care, which means you make qualified assessments, interpret patients' needs, and implement nursing actions in consultation with the patient.

You will have a varied and responsible job. Sometimes you need to act quickly, and sometimes a patient or relative may need more time.

Here, nurses and nursing assistants work together with their patients. As a nurse, you will closely collaborate with nursing assistants, doctors, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists regarding your patients.

The work at the Acute Care Clinic includes medication dosing, scheduling, information, and patient contact, mostly by phone. Here, you have a lot of personal responsibility and make independent decisions. We collaborate and maintain contact with other healthcare providers within inpatient care, primary care, and home healthcare.

The tasks are varied and provide a stimulating work environment.

Who Are You?

You who are applying are a licensed nurse. It is advantageous if you have experience in outpatient care and/or emergency care.

You have good collaboration skills, are flexible, and can adapt your approach based on the individual and the situation. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
