Psychologist for Child and Student Health

Child and Student Health

The Child and Student Health is a central administrative department for the health work of Gotland's schools.

In Child and Student Health, school doctors, school nurses, psychologists, social workers, physiotherapists, speech therapists, hearing, vision, and special educators work. The primary mission of Child and Student Health is to promote health and prevent issues. Our common statutory main mission is to support students' development to meet the school's knowledge and social goals. The medical intervention of student health (EMI) also has the task of offering health visits to students, providing assistance with minor healthcare interventions, and working according to our medical basic program.

Child and Student Health is a well-functioning and driven operation that aims to provide every employee with the opportunity for personal and professional growth by offering a workplace characterized by community, responsiveness, and the ability to harness initiative, engagement, and responsibility. We work with evidence-based methods such as PAX in schools, ABC parent groups (All Children in Focus), and the MI (Motivational Interviewing) method.

The psychology group consists of 15 psychologists led by a unit manager, who is also a psychologist. We have a shared workplace and regular professional group meetings. Our workplace is characterized by a climate where we share experiences and drive development together.

We offer 38.75 hours/week, flexible hours, and wellness hours/wellness benefits. Within Child and Student Health, we also have regular wellness and social activities.

Your Responsibilities

As a psychologist with us, you will work preventively and health-promoting with, among other things, consultations, supervision, workshops, lectures, and provide support to students, educators, school management, and parents. You will also conduct psychological assessments and evaluations of individual students. In your work at the schools, you will be part of the school's interdisciplinary student health team.

Who Are You?

We are looking for a licensed psychologist. A B driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required for the position. It is advantageous if you have previously worked as a school psychologist.

As a person, you are solution-focused, proactive, and self-driven. You have good self-awareness and excellent collaboration skills.

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Even though this is a full-time position, it may be possible to work part-time during the period.

About the Education and Labor Administration

As part of Region Gotland, we contribute to the learning and development of children, youth, and adults in the Education and Labor Administration. We are responsible for, among other things, preschools, primary schools, after-school care, adapted primary and secondary schools, culture schools, upper secondary and adult education, labor market initiatives, youth centers, and the reception and establishment of newcomers. Together, we provide opportunities for lifelong learning.
