Rehabilitation Unit at the Hospital

At Visby Hospital, there are departments in both surgical and medical care, as well as many clinics where occupational therapists staff all departments and some clinics.

The hospital has a close collaboration with, among others, Karolinska Hospital.

Visby Hospital is beautifully located by the sea, and during the summer, the patient clientele expands with tourists from near and far. Gotland is a fantastic place to live, with a rich sports and cultural life, untouched nature, and a creative entrepreneurial spirit.

Region Gotland is the only region in Sweden that has municipal, health, and medical care responsibilities and regional development responsibility within the same organization. This means we have close cooperation with home care, for example, during discharges from specialized care.

We are now looking for occupational therapist interns for the summer, with the greatest need during weeks 28-32.

Your Responsibilities

You will be part of an engaged workgroup consisting of occupational therapists and physiotherapists with high competence and broad experience. Meetings with patients, assessments, and training are daily tasks, as well as documentation and prescription, as well as testing of assistive devices.

Collaboration across professional boundaries occurs regularly to ensure patient safety and patient flow. In addition to the staff at the hospital, we also have regular contact with assistive device consultants, outpatient care, and home care rehabilitation staff.

In some departments, you will participate in team rounds. Placement will be based on your competence and experience.

Who Are You?

You who are applying are a licensed occupational therapist. Interest, competence, and experience in inpatient care are meritorious, but we also place great importance on personal suitability. You should be easy to collaborate with, be flexible, and be able to work independently.

You should be interested in meeting people in varied situations, be calm, pedagogical, and secure in your professional role, and see solutions and improvements as a natural part of the work.

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
