In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.

Surgery and Urology, Inpatient Care

Department A4 is an acute somatic care unit.

With us, you will meet and care for patients who require both acute and planned postoperative care with a focus on upper and lower gastro, thoracic and vascular, urology, ENT, and oncological surgical patients. We have 18 care places for patients who come to us acutely and six elective care places on weekdays. Here, you will experience variety in both pace and tasks and have the opportunity to become both well-rounded and a specialist in acute somatic healthcare.

Your Responsibilities

In your role as a nurse with us, you will be responsible for your care team and lead the care of the patients. You will work together in the team with a particular focus on the patient's condition, planning, and treatment. You are expected to have a person-centered approach and assume that each patient has unique needs and conditions, where the patient's relatives are also an important piece of the puzzle and resource. Influence, participation, and joy at work are key words for your daily work, and we see patient safety, collaboration, and communication as important parts.

In the department, you will primarily work with acute care, preoperative preparations, and postoperative care. You will be responsible for handling peripheral and central access, sampling, monitoring and assessment of NEWS2, fluid balance, probes, drains, EDA, and stomas. Pain relief and mobilization after surgery are also important tasks.

As a new talent with us, you will receive a tailored introduction based on your skills and experience.

Who Are You?

You should be a licensed nurse, and it is highly meritorious if you have previous experience from inpatient care. For us, it is important that you are driven by the desire to help develop the care/unit with the patient at the center, as well as actively sharing your knowledge with colleagues and equally curiously learning from their expertise.

As you work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with person-centered care, is motivated by improvement work, and wants to create and develop our department and our ways of working. You should be good at collaborating with others and want to be part of driving the operations forward together.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Selection for interviews is ongoing, so please submit your application today!

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
