At Wisby Söder Health Center in Gotland, we actively work to develop Good and Close Care.

Innovation, collaboration, and a sustainable work environment are central parts of our working method. Region Gotland has adopted an action plan with a target of 1100 registered patients per physician, and from 2026 all our lists will be weighted towards 1100. All to create better conditions for both patients and employees.

We are now looking for two licensed physicians who are passionate about primary care and want to develop into specialists in general medicine by completing their specialist training, ST, with us at Wisby Söder.

The health center has nearly 15,000 registered patients and about 40 employees. Here, we conduct active improvement work focused on efficient working methods, fixed contacts, person-centered care, and a sustainable work environment. From the start, you will have the opportunity to work with your own patient list, with your own phone hours, but also drive development forward in the direction of general medicine in an innovative and constructive way.

We value education for our ST physicians, and the latest SPUR review shows that we maintain high quality in our educational concept.

Your Responsibilities

As an ST physician at Wisby Söder and in Region Gotland, we will together with you, the organization, and the study director set up a common individual plan for your work as well as supervision at the health center as well as your side training and mandatory courses according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's goal description.

We work in continuity teams with a high degree of individually tailored calendars and with regular supervision time as well as education time both related to ST and to the organization as such. You will be responsible for a tailored patient list, depending on how far you have come in your education and development. We strive for an efficient structure where we take care of our patients based on medical priorities.

As an ST physician, you have regular allocated supervision time with your appointed supervisor, but all employees at the health center have a supervisory role when needed. You will have allocated time for your own studies and participate in ST physician training meetings, but of course also be part of the team at the health center and participate in the training and meetings that are held there.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who is on their way to becoming or is already a licensed physician and interested in ST in general medicine. A sense of responsibility, flexibility, and an active pursuit of knowledge, as well as an interest in working in a team with other specialists and professional groups, are important prerequisites for the job.

Language skills in Swedish at least at level B2 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are a requirement, as well as experience of the Swedish healthcare system. A driver's license is required as on-call work is included.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, and previous experience of working in general medicine is an advantage.

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record, and a license must be presented before the position can begin.
