In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.

Stroke Unit

C3 stroke is a care unit with ten beds.

The unit is undergoing a transformation and will expand this summer to also include five geriatric care beds. In connection with the change, we are growing as a workgroup and need to recruit nurses and nursing assistants.

With us, stroke, neurology, and geriatrics are combined with teamwork and a focus on rehabilitation. We work with acute stroke, rehabilitation after stroke, and care and rehab of geriatric patients. Patients with neurological diseases and injuries are also cared for here. We share facilities with the medical department and collaborate closely.

Teamwork is central. The team includes nursing assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehab assistants, and doctors, as well as speech therapists, social workers, and dietitians. Every week, we hold a TEAM round where we plan and follow up on the care of rehab patients. As a nurse, you will work with 1-2 nursing assistants and be responsible for five patients during the day and 7-8 in the evening. At night, two nurses and one nursing assistant work together.

We are an engaged workgroup with a focus on person-centered care and a rehabilitative approach. The nursing group collectively takes responsibility for development and working methods, with a strong collegial community.

We are looking for someone who is committed and wants to grow with us. Based on your interests, you can take on a responsibility area with the opportunity to influence and develop the operations.

If you are a newly graduated nurse who has received your license in the last twelve months, you will participate in the introductory year where you will develop your nursing skills through practical training, reflection, and group discussions with experienced nurses and other professionals. Through the introductory year, we want to provide you as a new nurse with opportunities for clinical training, deepening, and reflection to give you the best possible conditions to enter your new profession. Our hope is that after the introductory year, you will feel secure in your professional role and see competence development as a natural part of your work.

We offer day/evening, night, or rotation shifts and are happy to shape a position that suits you.

Your Responsibilities

Based on evidence and proven experience, you will plan, implement, and evaluate care together with experienced nursing assistants. You will represent care in the multidisciplinary team and support patients and relatives during their time in the unit. You will coordinate care in the unit and prepare for discharge. You will collaborate with relatives, other departments, and functions both within and outside the hospital.

Your role includes mentoring students and introducing new colleagues.

If you are newly graduated, the focus will be on settling into your new role, and gradually you will take on more responsibilities and participate in operational development.

Who Are You?

You who are applying are a licensed nurse. You can be newly graduated or experienced and have an interest in working with stroke, geriatrics, and other neurological diseases. Experience in stroke, neurology, and geriatrics is a plus.

You are open, independent, and responsible. You want to develop in your professional role and actively participate in the development of the operations. You appreciate being part of a team and collaborating closely with colleagues. The work requires your ability to plan and prioritize your tasks even in situations where you need to adapt quickly. You communicate well and are clear both in your communication and in your approach. You are solution-focused and flexible by nature.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.

Selection will take place continuously during the application period.
