Job Advertisement: Nurse for Psychiatric Inpatient Care
In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all stages of life. We make each other better.
Psychiatric Inpatient Care
The health and medical care administration's area of psychiatry consists of psychiatric inpatient care, adult psychiatric outpatient care, addiction care, and child and adolescent psychiatry.
The operation has a total of approximately 110 employees.
The mission of the area is to be responsible for providing psychiatric specialist care to adults and to provide care for mental health issues to all children and adolescents up to 17 years of age. Psychiatric specialist care is provided at the clinic and/or at home and, if necessary, within inpatient care. With short decision-making paths, there are great opportunities to be involved in developing the clinic's working methods.
The operation offers a breadth in both competence and services, which is a challenge since the catchment area, both in terms of size and population, is relatively small. The vision is a shared person-centered value base that is expressed in both patient interactions and meetings between employees and leaders. Therefore, the work is characterized by a person-centered approach where the patient is a whole person with resources, opportunities, and participation in care planning.
Your Responsibilities
As a nurse in inpatient care, you will be part of a team of a total of ten nurses. There are two wards, A and B, each with nine beds. Ward A has two places for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP).
You will be responsible for the psychiatric care of inpatients together with nursing assistants and care aides. Standard nursing tasks are included, such as rounds, medication distribution, conversations, and documentation. On weekends and evenings, you are responsible, together with another nurse, for our emergency reception, both through telephone advice and visits to the clinic. There are always two nurses on duty responsible for their respective wards. At night, you, together with nursing assistants, are responsible for the emergency reception regarding telephone advice and visits to the clinic.
As a new nurse in inpatient care, you will be paired with an experienced nurse who will act as your mentor during your initial time on the ward, in addition to the nurse you will have your introduction with.
Who Are You?
We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with specialist training in psychiatry. If you have previous experience working in psychiatric care, we consider that an advantage. Knowledge of MI (Motivational Interviewing) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) is also meritorious.
Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
