Engaged Nurse for Stroke Department
In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.
Stroke Department
C3 stroke is a care department with ten regular care places and one overflow place.
The focus is on acute stroke care and rehabilitation after stroke. In addition, we care for patients with neurological diseases and injuries. We share facilities with the medical department and have a close collaboration and help each other when needed.
Teamwork is central in the department. The close team consists of nursing assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, doctors, as well as speech therapists, social workers, and dietitians. Every week, the department has a joint TEAM round where we plan and evaluate care for our rehabilitation patients. As a nurse, you work daily in a team with one to two nursing assistants and have care responsibility for five patients.
We are an engaged workgroup that works together with a focus on person-centered care and a rehabilitative approach, as well as a strong desire to develop.
In the nursing group, there is a shared responsibility for work methods and development areas, and we support each other in daily work. Within the group, there is a broad competence and a good collegial spirit.
At night, the department is merged with the medical department, and the workgroup is divided into three care teams responsible for a total of 25 regular care places. Each care team consists of one nursing assistant and one nurse.
The Stroke Department is now looking for new colleagues and is searching for you who are an engaged nurse with a desire to develop together with us. Based on interest and needs, you as a nurse will be assigned an area of responsibility where you will have increased responsibility and opportunities to follow up and develop the operations.
If you are a newly graduated nurse and have received your license in the last twelve months, you will participate in the introductory year where you, through skills training, reflection, and group discussions with experienced nurses and other professionals, will develop your abilities as a nurse. Through the introductory year, we want to give you as a new nurse the opportunity for clinical training, deepening, and reflection so that you have the best possible conditions to enter your new profession. Our hope is that after the introductory year, you will feel secure in your professional role and see competence development as a natural part of your work.
Your Responsibilities
Based on evidence and proven experience, you will plan, implement, and evaluate care together with experienced nursing assistants. You will represent care in the multiprofessional team and support patients and relatives during their time in the department. You will coordinate care in the department and prepare for discharge. You will collaborate with relatives, other operations, and functions both within and outside the hospital.
Your assignment includes supervising students and introducing new colleagues.
If you are newly graduated, the focus will be on settling into your new role, and gradually you will take on larger responsibilities and operational development.
Who Are You?
You who are applying are a licensed nurse. You can be newly graduated or experienced and have an interest in working with stroke and other neurological diseases. If you have experience in stroke and neurology, it is a plus.
You are open, independent, and responsible. You want to develop in your professional role and actively participate in the development of the operations. You appreciate being part of a team and collaborating closely with colleagues. The work requires your ability to plan and prioritize your tasks even in situations where you need to adapt quickly. You communicate well and are clear both in your communication and in your approach. You are solution-focused and flexible in your disposition.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
Selection will take place continuously during the application period.
