Healthcare Assistant at the Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology (CFOG) Västerbotten

The Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology (CFOG) Västerbotten is a regional organization with approximately 250 employees, where units at the region's three hospitals collaborate. CFOG operates with a cross-regional process orientation, and the hospitals in the region share responsibility for ensuring that people in Västerbotten have access to specialist maternity care, delivery, postpartum care, gynecological outpatient care, gynecological surgery, tumor surgery, and robotic surgery.

The unit in Skellefteå has about 90 employees. The operations include delivery services and a shared ward for postpartum and gynecological care. Benign gynecological surgery is conducted within the unit, and collaboration occurs with the unit in Umeå for tumor surgeries. The outpatient services consist of specialist maternity care, gynecological outpatient care, and midwifery services. Infertility investigations in the region are centralized to the clinic in Skellefteå.

At CFOG, employees are expected to participate in operational development, for example, by joining workgroups or through their own areas of responsibility.

We are looking for two new employees for the role of healthcare assistant. The positions are for a permanent full-time employment and a full-time temporary position, currently placed at our postpartum-gynecology-delivery ward.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a healthcare assistant with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel secure.

In the postpartum-gynecology-delivery ward, you work in a team with midwives and doctors. The tasks are varied, including assisting in deliveries, caring for new families, and caring for gynecological patients. This may involve performing checks and sampling according to current routines and on prescription. Pre- and post-operative care of gynecological patients, end-of-life care, assisting midwives or nurses in medical terminations. The work involves close collaboration within the team.

In your role as a healthcare assistant, you contribute to achieving clinic-wide goals. You are expected to act according to established routines and decisions and keep yourself updated on these.

We apply a wish schedule via Tessa, where we work in three shifts (day, evening, night). Weekend work is included. Periodically, there may be a greater need for night work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a certified healthcare assistant education. Since healthcare assistant is a protected title, you need to present a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare, or alternatively a service certificate that allows you to be covered by the National Board of Health and Welfare's transitional regulations and use the title until June 30, 2033.

It is highly meritorious if you have previous experience working in maternity and/or postpartum care as well as gynecological care.
