Care Assistant and Nursing Staff for Ersboda and Finnish Home Care

The elderly care in Umeå municipality aims to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction.

The municipality's home care service is Umeå's largest provider with the longest experience in personal care and service. The home care service provides various forms of support, service, and care in the home. We are the unit that handles all nursing interventions where our clients live in their own homes within Umeå municipality. Most of our staff are nursing assistants whom we continuously train. The home care service is also responsible for responding to and managing security alarms that occur at night.

Your Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who, with a good attitude and a professional approach, supports our elderly in their daily lives.

The tasks include personal care, transfers, meal support, cleaning, and medication management. Our goal is to enable the elderly to stay in their homes for as long as possible, based on their own wishes.

The work is carried out according to current assistance decisions and implementation plans, with the individual's participation and self-determination at the center, to ensure quality interventions.

The working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.

About You

For the position of nursing assistant, we are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant and has experience working in elderly care. We prefer if you have experience working in home care.

For the positions of nursing staff, we are looking for someone who has experience working in elderly care. We view positively if you have a healthcare education and/or experience in home care.

To communicate with clients, relatives, and colleagues, write and participate in care documentation, and receive medication delegation, you must have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. Since the positions are part of the Finnish home care service, we prefer if you have knowledge of the Finnish language.

A driver's license (B) is required for all positions.

Heavy lifting may occur, and transfer aids should be used.

Pets and smoking may occur in the workplace, so you should not be allergic.

• One position as a nursing assistant, permanent full-time employment with a planned start date of 2026-03-01.
• Two positions for nursing staff, full-time temporary employment, starting as soon as possible by agreement until 2026-08-31.
