Biomedical Analysts Wanted for Laboratory Medicine

Laboratory Medicine within Region Jämtland Härjedalen is an advanced diagnostic organization with significant expertise and responsibility for medical diagnostics across the region. The organization is undergoing a transformation and expansion, and we are now seeking new colleagues who want to join us on our exciting development journey where we conduct advanced medical diagnostics as well as research and development.

Laboratory Medicine is an accredited operation with a broad and varied diagnostic panorama. Here, many different professional groups and professions work and collaborate; biomedical analysts, laboratory engineers, specialist doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, laboratory assistants, chemists, microbiologists, IT specialists, and medical secretaries. We provide patients, blood donors, and referrers with a high degree of service.

Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine includes our serological laboratory, component production, and blood donation at Storsjötappen. Laboratory Medicine is undergoing an internal reorganization, which provides great opportunities for personal development and active participation in the improvement work of the organization. We collaborate across unit boundaries and between clinical specialties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for 2 biomedical analysts or equivalent for our serological laboratory within Transfusion Medicine.

Main tasks include laboratory work related to immunology, blood group serology, and transfusion medicine. This includes instrument handling, manual methods, result assessments, technical approvals, troubleshooting, as well as customer and referrer contacts. Work with component production may also be included in the position.

Work within sections of Clinical Chemistry (pre-analysis, general chemistry, and hematology) may also be relevant depending on experience and personal suitability. The work involves duties both during the day and at inconvenient working hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed Biomedical Analyst or has other education and/or experience that the employer considers equivalent. Advanced knowledge and/or work experience in transfusion medicine is an advantage.

You have good knowledge of Swedish and communicate well in both speech and writing. You have the ability to make quick decisions both independently and in collaboration with others. You also have a good initiative and are quality-conscious.
