The City Environment Administration is responsible for the city's public spaces and accessibility, working to create accessible, attractive, and sustainable urban environments in Gothenburg.

Job Responsibilities

As a project manager within the investment area, you will lead development, investment, and renovation projects in the city's parks, streets, squares, tramways, and other public environments. The projects vary in size and complexity, from smaller measures to larger urban development projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning and implementation against goals, budget, and timeline, making technical, economic, and social assessments, and coordinating consultants, contractors, and internal competencies. You will work closely with other administrations and also contribute to business development and a strong project organization. The work is characterized by collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a shared commitment to sustainable community building.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience as a project manager, project engineer, construction manager, assignment manager, or site manager where you have been responsible for budget, forecasts, and financial follow-up. Other experience deemed equivalent by the employer may also be relevant.
• A civil or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or other education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Experience in construction and civil engineering projects related to streets/roads, tramways, parks/playgrounds, bridges/quays, bridges/tunnels/walls, square areas, and other types of land works such as soil stabilization or remediation. Also experience in building construction projects.
• Practical and documented experience in contract law (AB04) and consultant law (ABK09) as well as notification management in consultant and construction contracts.
• Experience with AMA Construction/AMA Building and MER Construction.
• Good contract and negotiation skills.
• Driver's license B.

You will handle many complex issues within urban development, and therefore we are looking for someone who can work independently and structured, with the ability to adapt to changing conditions. The position involves a lot of contact with the public, consultants, contractors, and other administrations and authorities, so it is essential that you are collaborative, communicative, and have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing. We use digital project tools that require good IT skills. Personal suitability will be given great importance.
