Project Coordinator in Technical Surveillance

About the Unit

FMTIS has four implementation units (GE) in Sweden that maintain the Armed Forces' command systems in the IT and telecommunications area, the position is located at GE West. The unit works with the maintenance of the Armed Forces' telecommunications network, electrical/mechanical systems, radio, sensor, surveillance, and field systems as well as installation, operation, and maintenance of a variety of IT systems.

Main Responsibilities

In the role of project coordinator in technical surveillance, you will lead/execute projects, contracts, design work, tendering, and inspections. As a project coordinator in technical surveillance, you will lead and follow up on the activities of contracted subcontractors. You will be responsible for reporting and documenting ongoing and completed work. Furthermore, you will collaborate with suppliers and support the Armed Forces' units with technical questions. The work is mainly performed in the Armed Forces' premises and facilities. Travel for training and work may occur. Your tasks include:

  • Driving expansion and new installation projects of alarms, access control, and CCTV systems.
  • Ensuring that projects are completed within the allocated budget and timeframe.
  • Providing technical support and advice within the technical area of the department.
  • Conducting budgeting within the technical area.
  • Supporting the technical surveillance area.

Qualifications

  • High school education with an electrical/telecommunications focus or equivalent knowledge that can be assessed as equivalent by the employer.
  • Experience working with technical surveillance systems (intrusion alarms, access control, and CCTV systems).
  • Good IT skills and computer proficiency.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Driver's license (manual transmission).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in project management.
  • Documented security technology training.
  • Knowledge of SSF's various rules and norms.
  • Knowledge in server and network technology.

Civil permanent employment that may start with a 6-month probationary period. Work location: Skövde. Start date: As soon as possible or by agreement.
