About the Naval Staff

The Naval Staff is the unit that, through the Chief of the Navy, leads all operational activities in the navy. As a BWA in the Naval Operations Center, you are an important part of a successful team in an authority that is in strong growth. Together with competent and engaged colleagues, you will receive responsibility, development, and challenges. All this with an employer that encourages a balance in life and good health. The Naval Staff offers a commuter bus from central Stockholm to Muskö with several stops along the way.

Main Responsibilities

In the role of BWA, you are the spider in the web, present where it happens in the Naval Operations Center. The daily work consists of supporting watch teams with ongoing operations by creating an operational/tactical situation picture for the navy and administrative work in the form of information management. You will be at a workplace that is constantly growing and developing, where no day is like the previous one, which means that tasks may change over time. In this position, it is important to have a high degree of security awareness.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Approved military basic training
  • 3-year high school education
  • Driver's license with category B

DESIRABLE

  • Good user skills in MS Office
  • Good experience working with the Armed Forces' IT systems
  • Express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English
  • Experience in staff duties
  • Group leader training
  • Experience serving in the navy

Other

Employment form: Fixed-term employment according to the agreement for employment of group leaders, soldiers, sailors within the Armed Forces (GSS/K). This means a fixed-term employment of up to eight years with the possibility of extension for an additional four years. The employment begins with a six-month probationary period if you are not already employed by the authority.
Employment rate: Full-time.
Work location: Muskö, Haninge municipality.
Start date according to agreement.
Working hours: Mostly scheduled daytime during weekdays 08:00-16:30, but other times may occur.

The position includes 3 hours of physical training during working hours.
Salary range for the role: 27,000 - 29,000 SEK/month depending on competence, education, and experience.
Due to the nature of the work, there are restrictions on using social media and mobile phones during daytime.
