Location: Stockholm (Kungsholmen)

Scope: 100% (40 hours/week)

Work Model: Hybrid – expected on-site presence at least 60%

Extension Option: 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 year

We are now looking for an experienced Planning Coordinator for a large and complex infrastructure project in an urban environment. The role involves driving and coordinating the work with the project's railway plan and ensuring that the planning process is carried out according to applicable regulations, timelines, and quality requirements. You will have a central function in the client organization and work closely with project management, municipalities, consultants, and other stakeholders.

The assignment is suitable for you who have solid experience in road and railway planning, enjoy a coordinating role, and are confident in leading consulting organizations in complex planning issues.

About the Role

As a Planning Coordinator, you are responsible for driving the formal planning process and coordinating the railway plan with the design work. You will plan and lead consultations, ensure the delivery of necessary planning documents, and serve as an important link between the project's planning work, permitting issues, and external stakeholders.

The role reports to the project manager for planning, agreements, and permits and is part of the client organization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Drive the formal planning process and lead the work with the railway plan including associated documents
  • Coordinate the planning work with the design to ensure coherence and traceability
  • Plan, conduct, and coordinate consultations within the planning process
  • Update the planning description as needed
  • Ensure coordination between the railway planning process and municipal detailed planning process together with the relevant municipalities
  • Participate in the work with agreements and stakeholder management related to planning
  • Contribute to land access issues and coordination with relevant parties
  • Lead and drive stakeholder dialogue related to planning, including municipalities, authorities, and external actors
  • Ensure that the consulting organization delivers the necessary documentation for the planning process
  • Identify the need for additional investigations and initiate them
  • Coordinate with the permit coordinator in planning and permitting issues
  • Provide input to timelines and time analysis related to the planning process
  • Prepare information and decision-making materials such as investigations and presentations
  • Participate in project-related meetings and contribute to the follow-up of the organization's progress

Mandatory Requirements

To be considered for the assignment, you need to have:

  • At least 3 years of completed higher education in civil engineering, surveying, or technical orientation (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • At least 5 years of experience in the development of road or railway plans
  • At least 5 years of experience in planning issues in large and complex infrastructure projects in urban environments
  • At least 3 years of experience leading consulting organizations in complex planning issues

Desirable Qualifications

It is desirable if you have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in planning specifically within railway projects
  • At least 5 years of experience in stakeholder dialogue and collaboration with municipalities, authorities, and other stakeholders in the planning phase
  • At least 3 years of experience from a client organization within public transport and/or infrastructure
  • At least 3 years of experience in the municipal planning process according to PBL
