About the Unit
161st Air Defense Battalion operates around the clock, year-round, to monitor and defend Swedish airspace by producing and distributing authorized air status, commanding air combat forces, and coordinating air combat operations. The battalion monitors and defends our facilities with its own resources. Additionally, the battalion has the mobility to establish and regroup radio and radar with its own protective resources. 1611.Strilkompani is one of three companies responsible for the part of the 161st Air Defense Battalion that is responsible for command and control, communications, and air surveillance. The position is located in the staff command platoon, which functions as a staff at the company level supporting 1611.Strilkompani with staff tasks such as order writing, handling visits, and other arising tasks.
Main Responsibilities
The position includes several different parts; the main task is to establish an intelligence cell that independently solves tasks within the framework of the assigned area of responsibility, contribute expertise regarding intelligence work in 1611.Strilkompani's operations, and further educate 1611.Strilkompani's personnel in the area of adversary knowledge. The intelligence officer, together with the intelligence cell, processes information to produce decision support for the commander in their decision-making. The tasks are partly at the company level but also at the battalion level with experience exchange and reporting for higher command, as well as direct collaboration with the air staff's A2 function. Furthermore, you will, at the request of the C Staff Command Platoon, support the staff officers at 1611.Strilkompani's staff command platoon with staff, training, and development work.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Graduated Specialist Officer (OR6-7) or Officer
- Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
- Approved physical requirements according to F16 Requirement Table FM FysS: Level 1.

You complete what you start on time and meet deadlines. You are analytical and solve problems without losing sight of long-term strategies and have the ability to see logic and connections in complex information or environments. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

- Experience within the Air Force's intelligence functions such as Mission Support Element.

Other
Employment type: Permanent. The Armed Forces may apply a six-month probationary period.

Work location: Bålsta. F 16 also operates at other locations, which may involve occasional business trips
Working hours: Mainly daytime. Evening and weekend work may occur during training activities

Uppland Air Wing, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and monitoring of Uppsala Airport as well as training conscripts in several different positions within the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Command and Air Surveillance Battalion, which commands combat aircraft in the air and manages the continuous monitoring of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several locations across the country and is an important part of the growth period that the Air Force is undergoing.
