Technical Officer at the Naval Base

The Naval Base is now looking for a Technical Officer for employment at the Garrison Unit's Signature Department. The position includes flexible working hours and offers opportunities for wellness during working hours.
About the Department
The Naval Base is an operational unit. The Signature Department belongs to the Naval Base-Garrison Unit and primarily works with measurement and analysis of ship signature characteristics as well as sensor and weapon control on ships and boats within the Navy. The Signature Department utilizes a number of fixed and mobile measurement stations around the country. Therefore, domestic travel to these stations is included in the employment. Many of the stations are located on islands, and the department has several boats for its own transportation. We also have truck-mounted container-based mobile measurement systems. You will be employed and serve as a specialist officer (OR6/7), focusing on signature measurement and sensor control.
Main Responsibilities
- Participate in measurements and analysis of ships
- Participate in measurement and analysis of sensor and weapon control
- Plan and lead the development of technical equipment, measurement methodology, analysis, and reporting
- Participate in Navy exercises
- Provide technical system support during studies, development, and procurement of new and modified material systems with integrated subsystems
- Follow up on the status of materials (including spare parts, documentation)
- Participate in the department's other activities, e.g., operational maintenance of stations, boats, vehicles, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Completed and approved specialist officer exam or equivalent education deemed relevant by the employer
- Driver's license class B
- Good physical performance ability
- Good computer and IT system skills
- Good language skills in Swedish and English

MERITORIOUS
- Electrical/telecommunication or hydroacoustic background
- Maritime competence N8 and M8
- Familiarity with the Armed Forces' naval units
- Military driver's license CE
Other
The position is a permanent full-time position with a 6-month probationary period in case of re-employment. Start date according to agreement. Work location: Berga. Business trips occur within the framework of the tasks.

The overall task of the Naval Base is to support the naval units with logistics such as transportation, basing, surveillance, and medical care, both at home and abroad. The Naval Base has its headquarters in Karlskrona but operates where needed, for example in Berga/Muskö, south of Stockholm, and in Gothenburg. Other major tasks for the Naval Base include monitoring Sweden's 2700 km long coastline with territorial waters.
