The Community Building Administration is responsible for catering and cleaning, exploitation, urban planning and building permits, parks and green spaces, streets, water, and waste. Here, over 300 employees work together to make Ystad a good municipality to live, work, and thrive in.

The VA unit is part of the Community Building Administration in Ystad municipality. We are responsible for the production and delivery of drinking water, managing and treating wastewater, as well as maintaining and installing the municipality's water and sewage systems.

We are now looking for an operations technician for our wastewater treatment team. We are a team of 11 people responsible for the operation, maintenance, monitoring, and sampling at the municipality's three wastewater treatment plants and nearly 60 pumping stations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position includes operational and maintenance work for all facilities within the area of responsibility for wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations.

Your tasks will consist of monitoring, addressing operational disturbances, as well as maintenance, upkeep, and repair of machines and equipment. You will also receive deliveries, take water samples, and perform minor maintenance on properties.

You will participate in process optimization and continuous monitoring of the operation of the facilities. Daily operations are the focus, but you will also contribute your expertise to projects related to the wastewater treatment process.

This is a varied job in an operation that has great significance for society, the environment, and people's health, offering you the opportunity to constantly learn new things and engage with new technology in a developing role.

On-call duty with a response time of 60 minutes is included in the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are an educated operations or process technician or have equivalent qualifications through previous work experience. You have experience in practical work with process facilities in water, sewage, or industry, preferably with knowledge of control and regulation technology. You need to have good computer skills.

You have an easy time understanding how process facilities work and possess good deductive reasoning skills for the actions needed to remedy problems and optimize the process.

You should be able to work independently but also have good collaboration skills. Since various events may require you to shift focus on short notice, you also need to be flexible.

It is important to us that you have an interest in technology and water treatment and that you can and want to help drive the operation forward. A B driver's license is a requirement.
