Do you want a job where you can make a real difference? Angered Arena is one of Gothenburg's most complete sports facilities and a vibrant meeting place for movement and community.

We are now looking for you who want to work part-time as a lifeguard or sports worker to spread joy and provide our visitors with world-class service!

Angered Arena is a multi-arena offering a swimming pool, gym, group training, as well as an ice and sports hall. Our goal is to lower the barriers to physical activity, increase swimming proficiency, and be the obvious choice for both associations and individuals. Here, everyone from school children to seniors meets. The arena consists of two units and is led by two unit managers together with three team leaders and about forty employees to provide a wide range of activities for the people of Gothenburg.

In the role of lifeguard and sports worker, you will cover for the absence of regular staff within the operations. We work with a customer focus in a dynamic environment filled with energy and movement, where your approach is crucial to the visitors' experience. In a combination of delivering quality and service, your main tasks will be:

  • Ensure that the facility is clean and well-maintained
  • Provide a warm and professional welcome that creates positive experiences for our guests
  • Contribute to the safety and security of our premises

In addition to these tasks, you will have specific responsibilities based on the role you are applying for:

  • As a lifeguard, you will supervise the pools, lead water aerobics, and other group training for children and youth.
  • As a sports worker in the gym and reception, you will staff the reception, guide new members in the gym, show visitors around, refer to the right activities, and handle customer feedback.
  • As a sports worker in the ice and sports hall, you will take care of the ice and sports hall for our visitors, as well as manage equipment and materials used by schools, associations, or the public.

Working hours vary and may include daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

For all positions, we are looking for candidates who have completed high school education, preferably with a focus on sports activities or youth work. You should have a good command of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form for communication with colleagues and visitors. It is an advantage if you are multilingual and have experience and a good understanding of multicultural environments.

For the lifeguard position, you should be a certified pool lifeguard or have other training or experience in swimming that is deemed equivalent. It is an advantage if you have experience leading water aerobics.

For the sports worker position in the gym and reception, you should be a certified gym and/or group training instructor or have other broader training in wellness and health. You have experience in cash handling and working in service roles.

For the sports worker position in the ice and sports hall, we prefer candidates who have experience operating an ice machine. It is also an advantage if you have experience in cleaning or previous experience working in a sports facility.

For these positions, we place great importance on your personal qualities and competencies. To thrive in the role of lifeguard or sports worker with us, you take responsibility for your and the group's shared tasks. You have a good approach and a genuine interest in other people, where you find solutions and want to help provide good service. You have good collaboration skills, working well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. At the same time, you have the ability to make your own decisions within the framework of your assignment and take initiative without being dependent on others. You are confident as a person and can balance different demands while remaining calm in difficult situations.
