We are looking for someone who wants to be involved in providing summer activities for children and young people and who wants
to work to ensure that everyone in Borås has a wonderful summer experience with swimming, play, and other activities.
For the summer of 2026, the Department of Recreation and Public Health is seeking summer substitutes for the areas listed below.
Swimming trips are a highly appreciated activity for children in Borås. To the day camp in Sjömarken,
children from all over the city come with the swimming trip buses to swim and play outdoors. All activities are
safe and based on participation. Here, children and young people have a fun summer vacation with the opportunity to
meet new friends, and everyone feels welcome!
The Open Youth Activities conduct summer activities at several different locations in Borås City. Based
on the best interests of children and young people, the leaders design the activities together with
the participants. A large part of the summer activities consists of fun outdoor activities in the residential areas of the districts, excursions, games, cultural activities, adventures, and much more.
The goal is for the summer activities to provide all children and young people who visit the activities with an experience of joy, quality, and good service.
Summer substitutes for Swimming Trips and Summer ActivitiesJob ResponsibilitiesWithin Swimming Trips and Summer Activities, you will plan and implement activities
together with colleagues, children, and young people, while also being a support to summer workers in
the joint effort. Documenting the daily operations in the follow-up tool Logbook is also part of your work. Together with your colleagues, you will ensure that
the activities are safe for children to participate in.

QualificationsIn the summer activities, we are looking for someone who wants to work with children and young people and has a positive
view of children's and young people's abilities as well as documented experience of similar work. You know how
to create safety and participation in your work with children and young people and plan
and implement activities. You find it easy to collaborate and contribute to a good atmosphere in your
team. To be eligible for employment in the summer activities, swimming proficiency is a
requirement.
In the Summer Activities and Swimming Trips, swimming instructor training and experience or education
in music, theater, or dance is particularly meritorious. Specifically for swimming activities, experience
in the service sector is an asset.
