We are now looking for a job consultant for the Establishment Team within the Employment Unit (AME).

Over the years, Vänersborg Municipality has received a large number of newcomers who, for various reasons, have not established themselves in the labor market and are in need of various supportive measures to be able to get a job. The Establishment Team offers this target group active and individualized support focused on a quick and sustainable establishment in the labor market and thereby self-sufficiency. The team is also responsible for the municipal reception of newly arrived refugees, which includes providing practical and social support to individuals during settlement, offering introductory measures, and providing community guidance.

Job Responsibilities

You will work in an organization that offers practical and social support that meets each individual's needs and conditions. In the role of job consultant, you will work to create motivation and focus on solutions with the goal of helping individuals achieve self-sufficiency and act independently in society. Your task is to map the participant's resources and abilities, and then coach and guide the individual towards establishment and self-sufficiency. The work includes establishing action plans, continuously following up on measures and the participant's development, and documenting this in the existing data system. Other common tasks include planning and conducting workshops, information sessions, and training measures aimed at the target group.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with various authorities and other public actors, as well as civil society and the local business community. You will have close cooperation with other professionals in the organization and participate in the ongoing development work within the unit.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree for the position, such as in behavioral science, social work, social pedagogy, or study and career guidance. You have experience working with the establishment of foreign-born individuals in the labor market and society. Training in motivational interviewing (MI), Supported Employment, or similar is an advantage. Knowledge of one or more non-European languages is also desirable. To fit into the role of job consultant with us, you must express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish and be accustomed to documentation.

Furthermore, you possess an empathetic ability combined with a professional approach. You believe in the individual's ability and can guide them to make their own decisions regarding studies or work. It comes naturally to you to build trusting relationships, both with participants and partners. In your work, you are flexible, creative, and open to new solutions. Engagement, clarity, and perseverance characterize your personality.

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. Experience is required.

A valid driver's license (B) is a requirement.

Conditions

Temporary position until 2026-12-31 with a start date of 2026-03-01 or by agreement.
