Who am I?

I am a cheerful and lively 15-year-old girl who needs assistants around the clock due to difficult-to-treat epilepsy. I live with my mom, dad, siblings, and our two dogs outside of Lysekil. I am a social girl who is often happy, especially on days when I feel good. Some days, my epilepsy requires me to rest, and not much happens. You need to be comfortable with the fact that the activity level can vary greatly from day to day.

I enjoy doing things together, especially in the summer. I have a strong interest in horses and ride twice a week. Therefore, as an assistant, it is desirable that you are familiar with horses as I need support in the stable. You cannot be afraid of horses. Besides being in the stable, I enjoy shopping for clothes and visiting horse stores.

I need support and help with almost everything in my daily life, such as dressing and undressing, hygiene, medication, tube feeding, cleaning my button, and being a support during seizures. I also need daily support with communication training and core and back exercises that are performed regularly on fixed days during the week. It is a great advantage if you have at least one year of experience as a personal assistant or in healthcare, but the most important thing is that you are the right person and that we get along.

Job Scope

I am looking for two hourly substitutes - one who can work day and evening shifts, and one who can work awake nights.

The goal is for these substitutes to also work in the summer.

To become comfortable in your role as my assistant, you will shadow and learn how to work with me. There is also an opportunity for professional development and wellness compensation after employment.

Who are you applying?

As my assistant, you need to be a calm, secure, and clear person who focuses on the right things in situations. Your task is to support me in structuring and planning and take a significant personal responsibility in that. I need someone who is very attentive to me and those around me. I wish for an assistant who is present and makes me feel seen, someone who enjoys talking and joking but does not talk too much.

A driver's license is not a requirement but makes things much easier. We also expect you to be smoke-free during working hours.

Working with me is very varied. Some days I may not have the energy or desire to do much, and some days more happens. The job is quite physically demanding as I sit in a wheelchair for longer distances/outdoor stays, and good physical condition is needed to assist me during seizures.

I communicate with the support of signs and pictures, so if you have experience with TAKK, it is a big plus for me. Since the job involves close personal work, I am only looking for female assistants.
