Summer Job at LSS Residence - Make a Difference Every Day

Lerum Municipality is known for its scenic places with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents but expects to grow significantly in the coming years. Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently facing a development-intensive period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. The municipality works to ensure good service, high welfare, and a thriving business climate.

Recently, Dagens Samhälle appointed Lerum as the winner in the category of metropolitan municipalities (2025) - an award based on a comprehensive comparison of 290 Swedish municipalities in areas such as education, healthcare and social services, economy, culture and leisure, attractiveness, business, and future factors such as digitalization and civil preparedness. We are now a Super Municipality!

We are now looking for summer substitutes for our LSS residences in Lerum Municipality.

You will work during the period of weeks 26–33. To receive a work schedule, you must be available to work at least four consecutive weeks during this period, but you can preferably work the entire summer. At a minimum, the employment rate will be 75%, but there is also the possibility to work 100% in certain operations.

Working Hours

The shifts are scheduled for days, evenings, and sleeping on-call, weekdays and weekends. The earliest a shift can start is at 7:00 AM and the latest it can end is at 10:30 PM.

For those with previous work experience in support and care, there is an opportunity to work awake night shifts.

Introduction

Before your first shift, you will be introduced by a supervisor at the workplace, where you will learn about tasks, routines, and the needs of the users. You will also complete online training. If medication management is part of your tasks, you will need to undergo training in medication delegation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

About the Role

You provide both practical and pedagogical support in everyday life. You work closely with care recipients based on their individual needs, wishes, and circumstances. Your work contributes to increasing quality of life, participation, and independence.

Your main tasks include:

  • Social care and conversations
  • Personal hygiene and care (e.g., showering and toilet visits)
  • Household chores such as cleaning and laundry
  • Medication management according to delegation
  • Health and medical tasks in consultation with a nurse
  • Documentation in the digital system Treserva

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a genuine interest in individuals, and your empathetic ability combined with your understanding of people's integrity contributes to creating a safe, meaningful, and dignified everyday life for our care recipients.

We place great importance on personal suitability. If you have relevant education in healthcare and social care, or a child and leisure program with a focus on social work, it is an advantage. Previous experience in healthcare and social care is also a plus.

Since documentation and collaboration are important parts of the job, you need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

A manual B driver's license is required in some operations.
