Our Operations

The Department of Psychiatry at Akademiska sjukhuset is organized into four subspecialized sections where the emergency department for adult psychiatry and the psychiatric acute care unit (PAVA) belong to the section of emergency and consultative psychiatry. The emergency department for adult psychiatry operates around the clock and has overall responsibility for emergency services and consultative services to the rest of the hospital. The emergency department also includes PAVA with twelve care places and the PAM unit staffed by specialist nurses and caregivers. We are looking for you who are a junior doctor before AT, with an interest in acute psychiatry. We can offer a stimulating workplace where the pace can sometimes be high and no day is like the other.

Your Assignment

Your tasks include making acute primary care assessments, psychiatric and somatic examinations, documentation, and feedback of assessments and actions to the nursing staff. An important part of the work is to coordinate collaboration with somatic care neighbors and organize follow-up of patients within primary care or specialist psychiatry in close coordination with the backup team.

Work at the emergency department for adult psychiatry requires you to work effectively, goal-oriented, and collaborate with various professional categories. All psychiatric diagnoses are encountered in daily work.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in psychiatry. As a person, you are responsible, cooperative, and resilient under stress. You have good communication and collaboration skills. In your work, you always put the patient first. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement, minimum level C1.

We Offer

We offer a temporary summer position. Full-time work. Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and on-call shifts. Start date according to agreement. A background check will be conducted upon hiring.
