Karlstad Municipality offers summer jobs to our youth who have graduated from 9th grade or the first year of high school.

Job Responsibilities

The Employment and Social Services Administration handles the administrative work. The job includes matching youth with their desired positions, information meetings with workplaces, contacts with youth before and during the summer job period, visiting youth at their workplaces, and preparing payroll documentation, among other tasks. You will spend a lot of time on the phone answering questions, requests, and occasionally addressing complaints from parents, youth, or perhaps supervisors at the workplace.

Starting in March, you will work with the regular summer coordinator to match youth with the job areas they have applied for. From the end of the school year in June, you will begin planning visits to workplaces.

Qualifications

Education in economics, administration, or human resources.

Personal Attributes

You are structured and have experience working in various operational systems. You are also service-oriented and enjoy a varied work pace with high peaks and quieter periods.

Administering and documenting

Temporary position for 6 months with hourly pay from March - April and monthly employment from May - August.
