Do you want to develop digital communication and contribute to the important work of the Church of Sweden?

Karlstad parish, with its 200 employees, consists of five congregations, a cemetery administration, and parish services where the communicators are placed.

We actively work to spread our message and strengthen the relationship with our members and the community. We are now expanding our communications department from two to three employees and are looking for a communicator focused on digital communication. Parish services are gathered in the parish house opposite the cathedral with its 18 employees, as well as parts of the cathedral congregation under the same roof. Here we have nice, spacious office rooms and a shared lunchroom where many laughs are promised.

About the role

As a communicator, you will play a central role in ensuring effective and purposeful communication, both internally and externally. You will work both operationally and strategically with tasks such as:

• Developing and maintaining the parish's digital channels, including social media.
• Creating engaging content in the form of text, images, video, and graphic design.
• Driving campaigns and developing communication plans.
• Managing media contacts, press releases, and monitoring the environment.
• Supporting managers and employees in communication matters.
• Documenting operations and contributing to the parish's work with internal and external events.
• Working on the strategic development of digital communication and the parish's communication function.

The working hours are mainly during the day, but evening and weekend work may occur.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has:

• A relevant university degree in communication or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of the Church of Sweden's mission and activities.
• Experience in driving and developing digital communication.
• A pedagogical, analytical, and strategic ability.
• A service-oriented and consultative working method, as well as good collaboration skills.
• The ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.

You are an independent, proactive, and structured person who enjoys taking your own initiatives. You also have basic IT skills and are comfortable working in administrative systems.
