Port of Gothenburg is Scandinavia's largest port and is visited by the world's largest ocean-going vessels. For over 400 years, we have been Sweden's logistical hub for international trade and are today an obvious gateway to the world for Swedish imports and exports. Gothenburg Port AB is a municipally owned company with approximately 180 employees who together work for a sustainable, efficient, and competitive port operation.

We are now looking for a Contract Controller/Procurement Manager for the Procurement unit in the Finance, Legal & Procurement department.

About the role

As a Contract Controller/Procurement Manager, you will be an important part of our procurement unit, which consists of four people. Together, we work to create the right conditions for the procurement process throughout the organization – from identifying procurement needs, contracts, orders, and follow-ups. The unit conducts a large number of procurements for services, construction contracts, and other business-critical areas, and procures framework agreements for recurring needs in close collaboration with internal clients. The mission of the procurement unit is to be both governing and supportive of the procurement process throughout the organization, ensuring that Gothenburg Port AB has access to the goods and services needed.

We work extensively on developing how to make public procurements as commercially strong and communicative as possible, and we are proud to say that we are successful in our efforts.

Main responsibilities

  • Coordinate and drive the follow-up work of contracts and ensure compliance internally and externally.
  • Administrative handling within procurement and purchasing.
  • Support the organization in matters related to procurement, orders, and contracts.
  • Conduct training and introductions for users in our ordering system.
  • And, if necessary, support in procurement work and conduct smaller procurements and renewed competitive bidding.

You ensure that contracts are adhered to by following up on prices, indexing, delivery requirements, volumes, and invoicing. You handle deviations, drive dialogue with internal clients and suppliers, thereby contributing to healthy competition, business acumen, and follow-up on sustainability and environmental requirements. The role includes support for contract extensions, options, and renegotiations.

In this role, you will be a central support in both strategic and operational parts of the procurement work. The design of the work will be adapted to your experience and competence.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with a relevant post-secondary education, preferably complemented by knowledge in economics and law. You have at least three years of experience in similar tasks, such as contract follow-up, LOU/LUF, contract law, or tender work.

To succeed in this role, we see that you:

  • are both meticulous and have a good ability to prioritize and switch between different tasks
  • have a strong desire to develop within both existing and new tasks
  • have a well-developed analytical and structured ability
  • work commercially, strategically, and solution-oriented
  • are communicative, pedagogical, and confident in dialogue with both internal and external parties
  • express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing, and are comfortable communicating in English
  • are flexible and enjoy varied tasks, and with drive and initiative take responsibility for getting things done
  • have good digital competence/maturity and feel comfortable using digital tools and using them to develop the working methods and procurement function

You are unpretentious, helpful, and enjoy working in a team. Flexibility and integrity are important qualities as you handle information and questions of varying complexity.

Good knowledge of the Office suite, especially Excel and Word, is a prerequisite. Experience with Power BI/Power Query and ordering systems is an advantage.

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

Why Gothenburg Port AB?

We are a stable and secure employer with an important societal role. With us, you will work closely with competent and engaged colleagues and be part of a team where collaboration and development are in focus. You will have the opportunity to contribute to an operation that has great significance for Sweden's trade and future development.

Warm welcome to our team!
