We now want to strengthen our department with additional nursing assistants as we are opening more care places.

The focus of department 14 is lower gastro, which means the lower gastrointestinal tract. We care for patients who are operated on for colorectal cancer, but also surgically acute medical conditions occur.

We have engaged and competent employees who take pride in the care we provide.

In addition to regular nursing assistant duties, you will work with pre- and post-operative care. Among other things:

• Monitoring vital parameters such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse
• Wound and stoma care
• Handling of medical technical equipment
• Drainage
• Blood sampling
• Urinary catheters

We have patient-related services (VNS) in the department that facilitate our work by performing patient transports, cleaning, and kitchen services, etc. This gives us more time for our patients!

You will receive an individually tailored introduction to feel secure in your role. We also offer recurring training initiatives, such as internal training and basic training, so that you can develop and grow in your professional role.

We are looking for someone who:

• is a trained nursing assistant who has completed the Health and Care program or the vocational package Health and Care in adult education.
• has a diploma from the Health and Care College.
• is interested in surgery.

Preferred qualifications:

• experience working in health and medical care.
• specializations in emergency care and medicine 2 from the previous Health and Care program.

As a person, you work responsibly and evidence-based, adhering to our routines. You have a good attitude, good collaboration skills, and flexibility. We also see that you have good communication skills in both spoken and written form.

Information about the Job Title

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected job title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within health and care.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in health and care, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, this means that the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. If you had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, you can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplaces/employers after July 1. After that, you will need a certificate of protected job title to use the title nursing assistant.
