A job where care, freedom, and collaboration meet?

As an occupational therapist in Avesta municipality, you play a key role in people's daily lives. You independently plan your workday but also collaborate closely with a physiotherapist – a teamwork where you support and complement each other. There is always an opportunity for discussion and joint reflection when needs arise.

Your tasks are varied and meaningful. The goal of your work is to create help for self-help – to preserve and strengthen the patient's ability to live as actively and independently as possible. You will collaborate with other caregivers and professional groups, where joint efforts make a real difference. Your tasks include:

  • Assessing and evaluating the need for rehabilitation
  • Designing interventions based on assessments
  • Testing, adapting, prescribing, and following up on assistive devices
  • Conducting activity assessments in home environments
  • Writing certificates, such as housing adaptation certificates
  • Guiding and educating staff and relatives
  • Contributing to and participating in the development work of the organization
  • Providing advice and support in both home and community environments – always with the individual's best interests in focus

The position is primarily directed towards ordinary housing and/or special accommodations, but if you are interested in LSS/social psychiatry, there is an opportunity to work in that area as well.

As an occupational therapist, you also contribute to ensuring that care and support staff have a safe and sustainable working environment. We provide training in transfer techniques based on Modern Work Techniques' transfer concept. If you have not already completed the instructor training, you will be offered training to become an instructor.

Qualifications

We welcome both licensed occupational therapists and those studying to become occupational therapists who are currently in their 5th or 6th semester. You have a B driver's license and experience working as an occupational therapist or in similar tasks. It is an advantage if you have experience with documentation in a business system and working in municipal operations. It is also advantageous if you are trained as a transfer instructor based on Modern Work Techniques' transfer concept.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and self-aware. You can distinguish between the professional and the personal and adapt your behavior to the situation. You take responsibility for your tasks and structure your work independently. When circumstances change, you can easily adjust and change your approach.

You are service-oriented with a genuine desire to help others and deliver good solutions. In your communication, you are clear and ensure that the information has been received. You collaborate well with others, are attentive, and communicative.
