The Unit Dalregementet

The Swedish Armed Forces - we defend Sweden, our allies, and our freedom to live as we choose. The establishment of Dalregementet is part of building Swedish defense capability. Until the regiment is developed to full capacity, including a new regiment area, the operations will be characterized by continuous development and change. About the Department

Dalregementet is looking for a communicator for the communications department, which is part of the regimental staff. The communications department currently consists of a communications manager and two school informers. The department's task is to lead and implement communication activities at Dalregementet and Falu garrison along the entire conflict spectrum: peace, crisis, and war. The department works with all types of communication, externally, internally, operationally, and strategically.

Main Responsibilities

You will work both strategically and operationally. Your main responsibilities are to independently collect, process, and produce information in text, image, and video for internal and external use, such as talking points, web texts, articles on the intranet, and posts on social media. You will create and moderate content for our social channels, photograph and edit image and video material. You will also guide press and media and plan and conduct press conferences in collaboration with the communications manager. In addition, you will work with managing and creating content for our external website and our internal staff website. The work also includes some design, and you will support management and staff with text, images, and presentations.

Qualifications

  • Communication education at the university level or equivalent education deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Work experience of at least 24 months as a communicator or equivalent experience deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Experience in creating and moderating content on social media
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English - both spoken and written
  • Driving license B

Meritorious

  • Previous service in the Swedish Armed Forces or another authority
  • Knowledge of our systems InDesign, Adobe Lightroom, Clipsk, or other video and photo editing apps
  • Ability to produce and edit film material for internal and external channels and experience in photography with a DSLR camera
  • Experience working with press and media
  • Experience in crisis communication
  • Experience in web management

Other Information

Employment type: Civil employment permanent with a six-month probationary period

Work degree: Full-time

Working hours: 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday during daytime with flexible working hours agreement. Work may be scheduled outside regular working hours

Work location: Falun, but business trips may occur

Estimated start date: Upon agreement

Salary: Individual salary setting applies within the framework of the Swedish Armed Forces' salary policy.

Dalregementet is one of the Swedish Armed Forces' newly re-established units with roots dating back to 1625. The regiment was re-established in 2021 following a decision by the parliament. Our operations are based in Falun, and we will contribute to the training of soldiers who build the infantry units of the future/Army.
