Do you want to lead a socially important work that strengthens people's influence over their housing?
The Tenants' Association is now looking for an engaged and driven project manager for the Mitt region. Together with a dedicated team, you will lead a multi-year project aimed at increasing engagement, membership, and local mobilization in our residential areas.
About the Tenants' Association and the Mitt region
Every day, the Tenants' Association works together with elected representatives, employees, and members to improve housing for people across the country. We have been doing this for many years – and we continue to stand up for tenants' rights, influence, and opportunities to affect their housing.
The Mitt region covers 52 municipalities in four counties. We have offices in Karlstad, Örebro, Borlänge, and Eskilstuna, about 80 employees, and over 62,000 members. We are now strengthening our presence – both physically and digitally – with a particular focus on areas where our visibility is currently low.
About the assignment
We are now looking for a project manager for a new project group that will operate in Värmland, Dalarna, and Örebro counties for four years. The purpose of the project is to increase the number of engaged members in selected residential areas and to develop methods for organizing, inclusion, and local mobilization.
As a project manager, you will lead a team of three employees consisting of three grassroots developers placed at each of our offices. Your own placement will also be at one of our county offices.
You will work both strategically and operationally, in close collaboration with unit managers, county managers, and strategists – regionally and nationally.
Your role as a project manager
Your responsibilities include:
- leading, following up, and developing the project towards set goals and effects
- being responsible for the timeline, budget, and progress of the project
- managing and coaching the project’s employees
- developing and testing new methods, models, and tools for increased engagement, housing integration, and local mobilization
- strengthening people's democratic participation and local influence
- ensuring the handover of new engagement to regular operations
Your background
We are looking for someone who:
- has a relevant higher education or experience deemed equivalent
- has an active and inclusive leadership style and can create an open and motivating work environment
- is driven by achieving results and development
- has excellent communication skills in both spoken and written form
- has experience working in a non-profit organization
Previous leadership experience is an advantage. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and understanding of working in a grassroots movement.
Practical information
As travel within the region is required, a driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are mandatory. Working hours are irregular, and evening and weekend work may occur. Start date is according to agreement.
Our offer to you
We are a values-driven organization with a strong sense of community and good employment conditions. We care about ensuring that our employees have a good and pleasant working environment. Here, you have the opportunity to develop and grow.
