Region Dalarna is looking for someone who wants to contribute to the future of community development through strategic work with transport infrastructure and accessibility. We are now seeking a strategist who wants to strengthen the region's work in infrastructure, sustainable transport solutions, and urban planning. As an infrastructure strategist, you will be responsible for developing a regional traffic strategy, a long-term decision-making basis that guides how the transport system should evolve to support sustainable community development throughout Dalarna. With us, you will be part of a professional team that drives development issues in close collaboration with municipalities, authorities, and other stakeholders.

As an infrastructure strategist, your responsibilities will include managing internal projects such as the development of a regional traffic strategy, which will serve as a long-term decision-making basis guiding how the transport system needs to evolve to support regional development and create a cohesive, competitive, and climate-smart Dalarna. The work will be cross-modal, meaning that all different modes of transport need to be considered. Much of the collaboration will need to be done in partnership with municipalities in Dalarna and other stakeholders both within and outside the region, so you need to be a good team player. You must have the ability to see and understand Dalarna's transport infrastructure from a regional urban planning perspective, as well as its value from a business perspective for AB Sweden and beyond into Europe and the world.

The role also involves participating in the department's work with national and regional infrastructure planning, as well as contributing to regional urban planning and the development of relevant mapping materials for the region's structural image. Working on the implementation of infrastructure plans sometimes requires patience, as these processes can often be lengthy, but this is balanced by the opportunity to contribute to new development projects with a shorter time horizon in areas such as sustainable mobility, drones, or other interesting development areas. Managing infrastructure issues at various levels, from municipal needs to EU perspectives, demands your pedagogical ability to explain and communicate complex contexts both in writing and orally to colleagues, stakeholders, and political decision-makers. The job also includes handling incoming referrals within the transport infrastructure area. Requirements:

• Have an academic degree in urban planning, infrastructure planning, cultural geography, or other education that meets the needs.
• Have work experience in transport infrastructure, preferably related to regional growth work and process-oriented working methods.

• Is accustomed to working in collaboration between different organizations and levels, and has experience in politically governed organizations.
• Has good analytical skills, is creative, and can work both independently and in a team.
