A Snapshot of Your Day
Do you want to contribute to the development of robust, reliable, and highly energy-efficient compressors? We are now strengthening our R&D operations in compressor design and are looking for mechanical designers – both junior and senior profiles.
In this role, you will be part of the compressor design group and work on both new and further development of our compressor components. You will participate in development projects for both new and existing products, where your role may encompass everything from concept development and design solutions to detailed design, drawing preparation, and follow-up during production implementation.
You will collaborate closely with several other disciplines within compressor development, such as strength calculations, aerodynamics, blade dynamics, rotor dynamics, and materials technology. The work also takes place in close dialogue with our own manufacturing, our suppliers, and our service operations, giving you a broad and operational role with a significant opportunity to influence.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Develop new design solutions together with other disciplines for existing and new products.
- Document design solutions through technical reports, technical specifications, models, and drawings.
- Drive failure and root cause investigations related to product and function.
- Act as a technical contact with suppliers and our own workshop.
- Continuously work on improving methods and processes as a natural part of daily work.
- Participate in service development projects and contribute to further technology development.
- Support production and purchasing in deviation management and assess the impact on product lifespan.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- A strong interest in mechanical design.
- The ability to work independently while enjoying collaboration with others in cross-functional teams.
- Responsibility, curiosity, and a desire to develop and continuously build on your skills.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form; good communication skills are important in this role.
- Experience in mechanical design and/or working in 3D CAD (preferably NX) is an advantage.
- Technical understanding and experience working in SAP is desirable.
- An analytical and structured approach to work.
About the Team
You will be part of the Compressor Group within R&D, which currently consists of about 40 people, of which 12 work specifically with compressor design. The group has design and development responsibility for compressor components for our gas turbines and heat pumps and is part of the component organization within gas turbine development. Compressor design is the first and a crucial part of the gas turbine, which means you will work in a technically exciting area with significant impact. There are good opportunities for both skill development and collaboration with engaged and knowledgeable colleagues in an international environment.
Within the Gas Services division, we offer energy solutions with zero or low emissions based on our gas turbines gathered under one roof along with steam turbines and generators. Through service, modernization, and digitalization of the delivered fleet, we create opportunities for reduced climate footprint.
We can offer you attractive employment benefits such as reduced working hours, advance vacation, wellness grants, and possibly the opportunity for flexible workplace.
