Research Position in Electronic Warfare
The Total Defence Research Institute (FOI) is a government agency conducting world-leading research in defense and security to support Sweden's military and civil defense. The research spans several areas, including underwater, cyber defense, space, electronic warfare, sensor systems, civil defense, CBRNe (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive substances), military platforms including weapons and protection, as well as security policy analyses. FOI's research plays a key role in building Sweden's defense capability.
Do you want to be part of an exciting technical and scientific environment – where curiosity, collaboration, and creativity are at the center? At FOI, you will work with advanced technology that makes a tangible difference for Sweden's defense and security. We are a team of dedicated researchers and engineers who combine theory, experiments, and analysis to find smart solutions to real problems.
About the Position
As a researcher with us, you will work at the forefront of development, but also in a supportive and learning environment. You will conduct applied research for the benefit of our clients in the defense sector.
The work can range from idea and modeling to experiments and analysis – and you will have the opportunity to contribute both with your technical expertise and your perspective. Within the unit, there are both experienced experts and newly hired researchers, creating good opportunities for mentorship and knowledge exchange.
You do not need to know everything when you start with us, but you must be curious and willing to delve into the technical and scientific areas that are relevant. This means you will further develop your skills with us. This can happen both within the framework of the research activities and in the form of individually tailored skills development based on your and the organization's needs. We are looking for someone who is curious and solution-oriented, with an interest in working at the intersection of theory and practice.
About the Unit
You will be part of the Electronic Warfare against Radar Systems unit, which belongs to the Electronic Warfare department in Linköping. The unit works, among other things, to develop, demonstrate, and evaluate technical systems for defense applications. The activities are both theoretically and experimentally oriented, with measurements performed both in the lab and in the field.
