About the role

You will be an important part of Fryshuset's finance team and work operationally with budgeting and monitoring of projects. The role is shared between international projects and other operations, giving you both specialized knowledge and breadth.

You will work closely with our international department on financial planning, budgeting, and financial control for projects funded by the EU, Sida, the Swedish Institute, and other international donors. You will be active at all levels throughout the implementation, from budgeting to monitoring and reporting.

Our international department has grown rapidly in recent years and consists of a dedicated team working together with local partner organizations that share our values. It is a dynamic work environment characterized by development, learning, and variety, where both passion and professionalism permeate the operations.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing anti-corruption systems within international projects, including monitoring and compliance of procedures with partner organizations.

You will also relieve financial controllers in other projects and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and auditing work.

The role of finance and audit coordinator entails significant responsibility and variety, allowing you to work with everything from ongoing administrative tasks to strategic work and training initiatives with a humble attitude. In this role, you will combine international work with insights into Fryshuset's broad operations.

More about the tasks

In this role, you will work closely with the head of international relations, program manager, and financial controllers. You will, among other things:

  • Develop and monitor budgets for international projects (EU, Sida, the Swedish Institute, etc.) and ensure they meet donor requirements.
  • Work on budget revisions, reporting, and financial assessments of partner organizations in various parts of the world.
  • Conduct controls and reviews of project accounts and audit reports.
  • Relieve controllers in budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and auditing work for other projects.
  • Participate in monthly closings and ongoing financial processes.
  • Provide support to project managers and partners on financial matters and contribute to training on financial routines.
  • Develop and implement anti-corruption systems within international projects, including monitoring of procedures and compliance with partner organizations. Plan and conduct training in anti-corruption for both internal staff and external partners, as well as support partners in improving their routines and capacity regarding anti-corruption.

Qualifications

  • Academic education in finance or a related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in project-based financial administration, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Documented experience working with international donors, especially the EU and Sida.
  • Experience in financial monitoring, control, or auditing.
  • Experience in planning and conducting training.
  • Experience working with anti-corruption is a merit.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and financial systems.
  • Very good Swedish and English in speech and writing.
  • Willingness and ability to travel a few times a year.

Work distribution and collaboration

You will be part of the finance department and report to the CFO. You will have close collaboration with the international department and be responsible for dialogue with partner organizations regarding financial issues, review of reports, and training in anti-corruption and finance.

Employment conditions: Permanent employment 80-100% according to agreement. The employment begins with a 6-month probationary period. The position is covered by a collective agreement between Fremia and Unionen/Akademikerförbundet.
