Senior Legal Counsel with Focus on Procurement Law

Job Description

As a legal counsel at the Inspectorate for Strategic Products (ISP), you will have the opportunity to work broadly with various regulatory legal issues as well as tasks related to the core operations. For this position, you will have a particular responsibility for providing legal support in the authority's procurement matters and for developing that area. This includes actively providing advisory support in procurements and in call-offs/orders from existing agreements with a focus on procurement law. Reviewing and supporting the drafting of contracts and other procurement documents is also part of the role. You will also work with other commonly occurring regulatory legal issues, including administrative law, transparency and confidentiality, and data protection legislation. ISP is a growing organization, and as a lawyer, you will actively participate in the development of the authority's legal work, as well as routines and other governing documents.

In addition to regulatory legal issues, you will also work with internal legal advice regarding the regulations that apply to core operations, such as foreign direct investments, regulations for military equipment and dual-use products, as well as international sanctions. Your tasks will also include conducting training and responding to consultations. International work and travel may occur.

Qualifications

  • Law degree (Juris kandidat/juristexamen)
  • Completed clerkship or equivalent experience from a court deemed comparable by the authority
  • Several years of relevant experience in qualified legal work from a government authority or court, or other relevant private sector experience
  • Current experience in qualified work within public procurement
  • Good knowledge of both Swedish and English, spoken and written

Meritorious

  • Current experience in administrative law, transparency, and confidentiality legislation
  • Current experience in data processing and digitalization issues
  • Current experience in EU legal matters

Personal Skills

You have a good ability to structure and prioritize your tasks. You drive your processes independently and deliver within given timeframes. Furthermore, you are analytical and can quickly familiarize yourself with extensive material. You have good collaboration skills and communicate clearly. We place great importance on your personal abilities.

About the Group

The Legal and Supervision Group consists of just over ten employees, including both experienced regulatory lawyers and younger lawyers, creating a dynamic work environment where development is at the center. As the authority grows, we develop our working methods to support each other and the organization smoothly. The group's responsibility to assist the chief legal officer in supporting the authority's legal work involves close contacts both internally and externally. The Legal and Supervision Group is located within the Unit for Operational Support.

About Employment at ISP

The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date is according to agreement. The position entails a duty to be placed in a war situation. To work with us, Swedish citizenship is required. The position is classified in a security class, and a security check with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. Since a large part of the tasks involve confidential information, the possibility of remote work is limited.
