The Culture and Leisure Administration is responsible for the municipality's libraries, cultural school, sports halls, and sports fields, open children's and youth activities, grants to associations and study associations, cultural activities, Vårby library with Children’s Art, Fullersta Gård, purchasing art, and awarding scholarships and prizes in sports and culture.

The library services consist of five public libraries located in different parts of the municipality as well as the digital library. The libraries offer all residents multifaceted library services of high quality throughout their lives. The libraries in Huddinge are both physical and virtual resources, collaborating in a local, regional, national, and global context.

Job Description

If you, like us, believe that the mission of the public library is important and engaging, we are now looking for a library assistant for Vårby library. In this role, you will work to meet, guide, and assist the library's visitors. Here is a selection of various tasks and responsibilities for this role:

• In consultation with the unit manager, plan the daily staffing of the unit, call in substitutes, contribute to finding forms for substitute staffing and functioning schedules.
• Perform daily routines such as book shelving in the public environment.
• Support and assist library users in utilizing the services and technology that the library offers.
• Purchase and code goods in our purchasing system.
• Participate in the unit's planning, implementation, and follow-up work and actively contribute based on the changing needs of the operation.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has completed a secondary education
• Can communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Has documented experience in customer service, preferably from a library
• Has good IT skills and can handle printers, scanners, and copiers without difficulty
• Has experience or interest in scheduling

It is important for the position that you are relationship-building with good collaboration skills and a sense of service. You are also responsible and self-driven. You should also be able to handle periods of high workload.
