Controller to the Army Staff
One of the Army Staff's focus areas is to build the new army, with an emphasis on field capability by developing new and restructuring existing units. At the same time, the Army Staff leads units both nationally and internationally and develops and manages war units and subordinate entities such as schools and units.

About the position
As a controller, you will lead and coordinate planning, follow-up, implementation of budgets, forecasts, and reporting of the Army's material systems within the Swedish Armed Forces' budget items. You will conduct analyses, controls, and reconciliations, and contribute economic expertise to the organization. The position includes some financial administrative tasks such as correcting and reallocating costs. The organization is in growth, which also means that the development of working methods, models, and methods occurs in collaboration with both internal and external actors.
You will be part of the cost follow-up in the material's life cycle, from initiation, procurement, and maintenance to decommissioning, and play an important role in the borderland between procurement and maintenance. In your daily work, you have an advisory role towards the operations and work closely with other colleagues at the Army Staff. The position involves broad contact areas both internally and externally, and therefore it is expected that you have good communication and collaboration skills.
Main responsibilities
- Coordinate planning, budgeting, follow-up, and reporting within the material budgets
- Support in forecasting procurement and maintenance projects in the long and short term
- Support the Army Staff's personnel with economic expertise
- Participate in the development of the internal operations
- Other tasks within the function
Qualifications
- University degree in economics or equivalent education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer
- At least two years of relevant work experience in a larger organization, municipal or state administration/authority, regarding economic work including budgeting, follow-up, operational analysis, forecasting, and reporting
- Good computer skills
- Good knowledge of expressing oneself in both spoken and written Swedish and English
- Manual B driver's license
Personal qualities
As a person, you are responsible, structured, driven, communicative, and analytical. You need to be able to adhere to deadlines and deliver the requested quality. Being able to work independently is a prerequisite just as working in a team. For us, it is important that you have good collaboration skills. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
Meritorious
- Experience of working in a government authority
- Experience of the Swedish Armed Forces' economic management model
- Experience of operational planning, technical service, and/or material production in the Swedish Armed Forces
- Experience of the Swedish Armed Forces' business system SAP
- Good knowledge of the Office suite
Other
Employment type: Permanent, the employment begins with a six-month probationary period for those who are currently not employed by the Swedish Armed Forces. The position is civilian.
Employment rate: Full-time
Work location: Skövde
Start date: By agreement
The work is normally scheduled during office hours, but irregular working hours and business trips occur to some extent.
