The Probation Service in Stockholm is located in new and modern premises in Gärdet, close to both the subway and buses. We have access to a new bike room with charging facilities for electric bikes and a gym for staff adjacent to the office. Our operations are growing, and our need to recruit new staff will be significant in the coming years. We are now looking for a person for a temporary position as decision support at Gärdet.
JOB DESCRIPTION
In the role of decision support, you will assist the prison officer and probation officer in the work with client decisions. The assignment involves making decisions in individual client cases based on delegation, ensuring the quality of decisions in relation to laws, regulations, and manuals, as well as ensuring the quality of language and other formalities. The work includes serving as secretary at the probation service's decision meetings and supporting employees in preparing decisions and decision materials, as well as coaching in client cases. As decision support, you will also represent the supervisory board and manage case distribution to case handlers. Additionally, you will lead the probation service's collegium and actively participate in legal forums/practice forums. In dialogue with the manager and other employees, you will also identify needs and propose structures for how the work can be conducted in the best way.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with experience in the operations of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service and good administrative law knowledge, experience in working with legal decisions, and handling administrative cases. You should also have experience in supervisory or coaching tasks.
To succeed in this role, you need to be structured, able to plan and meet deadlines as the work can involve a high pace during certain periods. You should be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing, and you need to be flexible, which means being able to plan and prioritize your work and drive your processes forward. Furthermore, you need to work well with others, listen, and communicate clearly to ensure that the message is conveyed and expectations are clear for all parties involved. We also want you to have a coaching approach, a holistic view, and prioritize the best interests of the organization.

We are looking for someone who has:
- A complete bachelor's degree with a focus on, for example, criminology, law, behavioral science, or a degree in social work.
- Good experience in the operations of the Probation Service.
- Good experience in handling administrative cases.
- Good experience in administrative law knowledge.
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience working with legal decisions.
- Experience in supervisory case handling.
- Experience in investigative work in probation.
- Experience in supervisory or coaching tasks.
- Experience in the role of decision supporter.

Individual salary setting applies.
Interviews will take place after the application deadline in the probation service's premises in Gärdet. Interview dates are February 16th and 18th, 2026.
