We are looking for engaged and responsible treatment assistants for several of our educational and meaningful activities for the summer of 2026.

About the position

As a treatment assistant, you will be part of a team and work both independently and together with colleagues. The work involves practical tasks to maintain the daily structure of the operations, as well as individualized support based on each individual's needs. The support can vary greatly, which requires flexibility, good adaptability, and relationship-building skills.

Your role also includes setting boundaries and sometimes having a controlling function, always with a respectful and professional approach. You will have contact with various partners, making good collaboration skills an important part of the job.

Documentation is a natural part of the job and is done in the digital system Treserva. You are expected to write daily notes and social documentation in a legally secure, clear, and respectful manner.

Many of our activities target individuals with active substance abuse and/or mental and social issues. Therefore, you need to be comfortable meeting people in vulnerable life situations, even in frustration, anger, or emergency situations, and be able to make professional assessments.

Quality and development work is an important part of our operations. We hope you are interested in change work and want to contribute to development that benefits our clients. The position includes participation in workplace meetings, supervision, and teamwork.

Working hours are scheduled for daytime and evening, weekdays and weekends, and in some cases on-call according to a rotating schedule. Placement is based on the needs of the operations as well as your experience and preferences.

Qualifications

• Ongoing or completed higher education as a social worker, social pedagogue, or other behavioral science education deemed equivalent
• A valid B driver's license and experience driving a car are required for all positions
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing
• A criminal record extract (HVB) is required for all positions

Meritorious

• Experience and/or theoretical knowledge of mental health and/or substance abuse
• Knowledge of MI (Motivational Interviewing) and low-affect responses (LAB)

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone with a non-confrontational approach, who is secure in their professional role and has excellent collaboration skills. You take responsibility for both your own and the group's tasks and always have the individual's best interests in focus. You are comfortable in social situations, can make and stand by decisions, and convey even uncomfortable messages in a professional manner.

You treat everyone with respect, base your actions on everyone's equal value, and contribute to a good working climate. You work effectively even under stress, remain calm in difficult situations, and can set clear boundaries when needed.

The Social Administration Sydväst is one of four social administrations in the City of Gothenburg with around 900 employees. In the Sydväst area, about 120,000 residents live, and the area stretches from Billdal to Högsbohöjd and to the southern archipelago. The administration's mission is to ensure that children, young people, and adults can live a safe and independent life and that children and young people have a rich leisure time. The administration also works to support people experiencing homelessness to find permanent housing. Through collaboration with civil society, local businesses, and other actors, we aim to improve public health and safety in the area.
