We are now looking for a forensic social investigator for the forensic psychiatric examination unit in Gothenburg for a temporary position until January 2028.
Your mission
The forensic psychiatric examination is carried out by a multidisciplinary team consisting of forensic psychiatrists, forensic social investigators, psychologists, and nursing staff. The social investigation is one of several investigations included in the forensic psychiatric examination.
As a forensic social investigator, you will, among other things, map the social circumstances that preceded the offense and assess the psychosocial functioning level of the examined individual. The investigative work involves conversations with the individuals being investigated, reviewing large amounts of written material, potential reference calls, and compiling the material into a written product. In the long term, there is also the opportunity to participate in risk assessments of life-sentenced individuals who have applied for a fixed-term sentence, as well as other types of investigations regarding the risk of recidivism for serious crimes. This includes risk assessments in connection with security custody and regarding postponed conditional release.
Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work

Meritorious
- It is particularly meritorious if you have experience in forensic psychiatric investigation work.
- It is meritorious if you have experience in other qualified investigative work within social services, correctional services, or psychiatry, as well as experience with the target groups of forensic psychiatry and/or the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
Personal qualities and abilities
We are looking for someone who has an interest in people and enjoys working within set timeframes. You are self-driven and structured, planning your work effectively and meeting deadlines. You have a holistic view and consider the best interests of the entire organization in your actions and decisions.
