Support Assistant in the Support Team
As a support assistant in the Support Team, you provide educational and psychosocial everyday support for the residents. The interventions should be based on respect for people's self-determination and integrity. The operation is part of the care and support sector of Skövde municipality.

RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for someone who wants a rewarding and developing job. In the role of support assistant within housing support, you have the opportunity to contribute to our users achieving the highest possible quality of life in their daily lives. Based on individual needs and wishes, you support several different users by being a practical and everyday support. In an educational way, you stimulate and motivate the individual to participate and lead an independent life.
You help users plan, structure, and carry out the various tasks of everyday life. Housing support is primarily supportive, training, and motivating - not compensatory. We work to strengthen the individual in maintaining and developing their own abilities.
In your role, you may also need to provide support in contacts and visits to healthcare and other authorities.
The work is scheduled for day, evening, and every other weekend.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a high school education and approved grades from the care and support program or the child and leisure program, or other equivalent education. It is positive (but not required) if you have knowledge of conversation methodology, such as motivational interviewing (MI), social stories, or drawing talk. Experience with delegated tasks, clarifying pedagogy, low-arousal approach, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) is also meritorious.
As a person, you are calm and secure and have a respectful, good, and adapted approach. You have the ability to build trust. To succeed in the role, we also see that you need to be very flexible and quickly adapt to different situations. The work involves a great deal of responsibility, the ability to plan and make decisions, collaborate, and cooperate. Personal maturity and security are required to meet individuals and their various support needs. You have the ability to take personal responsibility in your professional role, are proactive, and are used to working independently.
In this role, it is important that you can communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish, as you and the user need to understand each other, but also to carry out documentation. You are computer literate and preferably have experience with social documentation.
A prerequisite for you to work with us is that you have a driver's license and that you can cycle.
