Would you like to work as a temporary firefighter with us? The Fire Department is part of Luleå Municipality and has the mission to ensure that people living and working in Luleå feel safe and secure. We have about 100 employees in the Fire Department; firefighters, fire engineers, fire inspectors, and administrators.

We are now looking for firefighters for our summer staff in 2025, but also for temporary positions throughout the year, where you will have the opportunity to work alongside competent colleagues and contribute to our ongoing development!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a temporary firefighter, you will work in the operational response team. Your responsibilities primarily include conducting rescue operations, maintaining vehicles and equipment, and preparing for interventions. Furthermore, you will also work with preventive activities, such as training and information for the public.

You will work based on a 42-hour shift schedule together with a team of 9 people and will undergo an introductory training provided by the Fire Department before starting.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role of firefighter, you need to have good physical ability, be a competent swimmer, and have good water safety. You should have completed high school education and hold a driver's license with category B. Furthermore, we would like you to have training and experience in the firefighting profession.

As a person, you are responsible, flexible, and have a good ability to solve problems and work in a team where collaboration is a given for you.

Requirements for the position:

• High school education
• B driver's license
• Good physical ability
• Competent swimmer

Meritorious:

• Experience in the firefighting profession
• Relevant education, such as SMO, Full-time Firefighter, Basic Training for Emergency Services Personnel, or equivalent older education, or training as an airport firefighter
• C driver's license
• Chainsaw license
• First aid training for emergency care

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

Information about the recruitment process:

In the process, we will have two test days where we will test your physical ability and suitability for the position through interviews. We apply drug testing and request a criminal record extract during the hiring process. The tests will take place on February 10-11, 2025.

If you proceed to the test days, we will, in connection with that, request an approved treadmill test according to AFS 2005:6 §51 and a certificate for either Lifeguard Level 1 or Gold Buoy. The certificate must not be older than 1 year.
