We are a region-wide accredited department within Region Dalarna and receive histological and cytological samples from the region to prepare and diagnose them. The work in the department is very developing and extremely important in the healthcare chain as it is a prerequisite for a large part of cancer diagnostics within the region, as well as diagnostics of other diseases. Over 40 people work in the department; biomedical analysts, pathologists, cytodiagnosticians, medical secretaries, laboratory assistants, and autopsy technicians. We have good cohesion and collaboration across professions; the entire department is our team. A good work environment and job satisfaction are important and something we always strive for.

Your job responsibilities include writing dictations, handling analysis results, preparing conferences, managing telephone service, mail handling, managing cancer reports, and other administrative tasks within our operations. We work in the laboratory information system Analytix. You will have daily close collaboration with two other medical secretaries who will be your closest colleagues.

Working hours are daytime 7:30 AM - 4:15 PM, Monday to Friday.

You have completed one of the following programs: Medical Secretary Program 120 credits, Healthcare Administration Program 180 credits, or a 1-year post-secondary healthcare documentation training. Experience in similar work and computer skills are desirable. If you are the one we are looking for, you have a positive attitude towards the job, enjoy variety in your work, and can work both independently and in a team. You who apply have good knowledge of the Swedish language and medical terminology.
