The Jämtland Gymnasium Federation is responsible for upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, and parts of adult education in our member municipalities. The federation's eight schools are located in nature and mountain-adjacent environments spread across six municipalities – Berg, Bräcke, Krokom, Ragunda, Åre, and Östersund.

Jämtlands Gymnasium Fyrvalla is the heart of vocational education in Jämtland. Here, all vocational upper secondary programs and several adult education programs are offered in adapted educational environments with modern equipment. The school has a close collaboration with the region's business community across various sectors.

Description

As a full-time mentor, you are a key person in the students' school journey in the first year of the Vehicle and Transport Program.

You act as a link between students, teaching staff, guardians, the student health team, and other relevant parties. Your mission is to support students both socially and pedagogically, with a particular focus on creating good conditions for their personal development and study skills.

The position is a permanent full-time employment (100%) with a start date according to agreement.

Your Future Responsibilities

You have an overall responsibility for the students' entire study situation – academically, socially, and personally, both on an individual and group level. A central part of the role is the close collaboration with guardians, teaching staff, and the school's student health team, which includes school hosts, special educators, counselors, study and career advisors, and school nurses.

You will be part of a mentoring team where you will collaboratively develop methods that create security, study peace, and good results. Experienced mentors will be there to support and provide guidance in your daily work.

Who are you?

To succeed in this role, you need to have good knowledge of learning and young people's knowledge development, as well as the ability to build trusting relationships. You are flexible, solution-focused, and accustomed to adapting your working methods based on different needs and situations.

We prefer that you have a relevant higher education in fields such as social work, pedagogy, or study and career guidance, or equivalent experience. You have several years of experience working with youth and are well-versed in the school's governing documents and mission.
