We need more preschool teachers, this time for Hovgläntan Preschool in Ås. Hovgläntan Preschool in Ås has five departments with age-mixed groups where there are about 78 children, and we have a close collaboration between the departments. The work is based on a holistic view of children and their needs where care, development, and learning form a whole. We are now looking for preschool teachers with a collaborative approach and personal drive to help create supportive teaching environments.
All preschools in Krokom municipality work with five common operational goals where equity, quality, language, movement, and children's agency are in focus!
The Department of Children and Education has about 800 employees. The department's activities extend across the entire municipality and include preschool, primary school F-9, adapted primary school, after-school care, food and cleaning services, mother tongue, and library services.
A Day as a Preschool Teacher at Hovgläntan
In our municipality, you start from the children's interests, needs, and experiences. You plan the learning processes and with a formative approach, you implement, follow up, and evaluate the teaching, anchored in the curriculum. The children's learning is made visible both in the form of digital pedagogical documentation using iPads as tools, as well as analogously in our learning environments. Documentation is an important part of our daily reflections and also in the systematic quality work that moves the organization forward and makes learning visible. The systematic quality work includes preventive and promoting child health work in collaboration with our child health teams.
In your role as a preschool teacher, you are responsible, together with the rest of the team, for planning and conducting the activities and thereby meeting the needs of each individual child.
The value-based work is also an obvious part of the systematic quality work and is made visible in our Plan for Discrimination and Harassment.
You collaborate with preschools in the area and actively and purposefully work for a well-balanced and developing operation according to the governing documents. The units in Krokom municipality have a common systematic work environment effort based on the municipality's core values: welcoming, brave, close, and reliable.
To support your daily work, you have a close collaboration with a special educator, pedagogical developer, and principal. We work with inclusion, participation, and accessibility as core ideas. Your Competence
For the position of preschool teacher, you must be a licensed preschool teacher. You are well acquainted with the national governing documents for preschool activities.
If you have practical experience from pedagogical development work, it is an advantage. Experience working with aesthetic learning processes in preschool is also a merit.
We prefer that you take a holistic view of children and their needs where care, development, and learning form a whole with the systematic quality work as a foundation. Pedagogical documentation is a given part of daily work. You need to be didactically skilled and place great importance on planning and implementing the content of teaching to support children's development of subject knowledge and various skills in an inspiring way. You also always have a child perspective and work to make children's perspectives visible in your teaching.
You contribute to a good work environment and are a positive and secure role model for both children and colleagues. You meet others with respect and share your positive energy from a salutogenic perspective. We value your ability to drive the organization forward, collaborate, communicate, reflect, take responsibility, and that you, through your creativity, are open to new opportunities.
Digital competence and interest in ICT (information and communication technology) are expected. Training in TAKK, AKK, and low-arousal responses is advantageous.
