Job Responsibilities

The teaching assistant contributes to promoting students' development. The role may involve caring for individual students and/or working with students with physical or cognitive disabilities. The teaching assistant works based on the documentation provided about the students, such as pedagogical documentation or medical action plans. You are expected to provide individual support to one or more students with special needs throughout the school day. You should contribute to creating an inclusive environment for the student/students.

The work as a teaching assistant involves varied tasks depending on the nature of the individual assignment. Collaboration occurs with other professional groups and functions within the school. If necessary, contact with guardians may also be part of the assignment. Depending on the assignment, the teaching assistant may work in after-school care, in all school stages, or in preschool class. You need to be flexible as the tasks of the position may change.

Qualifications

You who are applying have completed upper secondary education. If it is from the child and youth program, we consider it an advantage. You have at least two years of work experience, including work with children and youth. Previous experience working in primary school with students who need special support is an advantage.

You have good knowledge of the school's curriculum and other documents that govern the school's activities. We also see that you have knowledge of how different disabilities affect the student's learning and how to best compensate for these. You have knowledge of low-arousal approaches.

Of course, you have a professional attitude and work towards good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

Elinelund School is located in a developing district in the southern parts of Malmö.
