Legal Officer at the Swedish Tax Agency

About the job

Your duties as a legal officer involve independently handling compensation and complaint cases, applications for death declarations, reviewing certain fee decisions as the final instance, writing opinions to the Chancellor of Justice and the Parliamentary Ombudsman, and representing the Swedish Tax Agency in certain court processes.

The legal officers are also responsible for certain governing documents, such as the working order. You will also work with internal legal support in various legal areas, such as administrative law, public access and confidentiality, and data protection. You will be part of a team with three other legal officers.

The role is located in the staff unit under the Economics, Governance, and Analysis Department. The unit works to coordinate overarching issues for both the department and the management of the Swedish Tax Agency, and is responsible for contacts and collaboration with the Ministry of Finance.

The unit also provides support to the department in legal and administrative matters and is responsible for handling cases related to complaints, compensation, and death declarations, as well as Chancellor of Justice and Parliamentary Ombudsman referrals.

The location for the position is Sundbyberg.

You should also have:

• Law degree 270hp (180p according to the old system)
• at least 5 years of current and relevant experience in qualified legal investigative work from public operations.

It is desirable if you have relevant and current work experience from the courts, for example as an assessor or equivalent. It is also desirable if you have experience working with data protection issues.

Good to know

The employment is permanent and may begin with a six-month probationary period.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in the security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
