About Villa Båthöjden

Overlooking forests and nature in beautiful Nacka, Villa Båthöjden is located. Here we have 56 places divided into 6 departments, of which 5 are dementia departments and one is a somatic department. The proximity to nature is palpable and an important part of our work. The nursing home in these fantastic premises was inaugurated in March 2011. The planning of Båthöjden uses the latest research on aging and age-related diseases. The building is therefore designed with spaciousness and beautiful materials to contribute to a sense of freedom, alongside the need for framing and clarity for individuals with dementia.

Public transport: Buses depart every 10 minutes from Slussen and Nacka Forum. For those driving, there is free parking available.

Dementia certification We are a dementia-certified residence, which means that all of us who work here are trained in dementia and response through Dementia Academy (https://www.vardaga.se/var-aldreomsorg/demens/).

Animals in care Here we work with animals in care.

About the role

You will work in a team with physiotherapists, nurses, and care staff, and the team's task is to enhance quality of life. You see each individual and have the ability to understand what each person needs.

In the role of occupational therapist, you will work with the residents to find the best ways to utilize their own abilities in daily life. You will support and motivate individuals to develop and maintain their physical, cognitive, and social abilities. Often this means that you:

  • make assessments and adapt the daily environment.

  • test and prescribe physical and cognitive aids.

  • guide your colleagues in rehabilitative efforts, approaches, transfer techniques, etc.

  • maintain contact with the residents' relatives.

Your experience and knowledge

We believe that you who are applying to us:

  • are attracted to a job that is varied and requires extensive knowledge of care and nursing

  • greatly enjoy meeting people in various situations

  • are independent, can make your own assessments and decisions, and dare to think for yourself

  • have a pedagogical approach and enjoy working in a team as well as supporting colleagues.

You are a licensed occupational therapist, and we prefer that you have several years of experience in elderly care. You have good computer skills and experience with documentation. Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing is a requirement.

Employment rate: 50%, 100% can be discussed. Salary: We apply individual salary setting. Start date: from February 2026 or according to agreement. Application deadline: 2026-02-28.
